The promoter family has a long standing history and a proven track record when it
comes to the ownership and management of food businesses in India.
It all began with the acquisition of a flour milling facility from the British around the time of independence namely The Delhi Flour Mills Co. Ltd. This company is today the parent company of the DFM Group and has been in operation for over a 100 Years with its first balance sheet dating back to 1917. The Delhi Flour Mills Co. Ltd. is currently a leader in the flour milling industry and houses one of the single largest flour milling facilities in the country located at Greater Noida in the National Capital Region (NCR) with a daily wheat grinding capacity of 700 MT. This facility makes use of the most advanced technology and state of the art machinery from around the globe so as to ensure the highest quality standards for its products.
Principal Products of the company include various specialty flours suitable for different product applications, semolina and whole meal atta. In addition to supplying its products to numerous retail bakeries and halwais located in the NCR region, The Delhi Flour Mills Co. Ltd. is also the preferred supplier to many large scale, reputed institutional clients such as Nestle`, Dominos, Haldirams and Mrs. Bectors Food to name a few.
Currently the annual turnover of the company is close to Rs. 500 Cr.
In 1984 the promoter family decided to expand its business horizons and made a foray into the packaged foods space with the launch of CRAX Corn Rings and Natkhat Wheat Puffs. These extruded snacks were amongst the first ready to eat packaged snacks to be launched in the Indian Market and became an instant hit especially with young children. The snacks business which was initially started as a division of the parent company, was later spun-off into a separate entity namely DFM Foods Ltd. and was listed on both the NSE & BSE. Under the ownership and management of the Jain family, DFM Foods Ltd. grew exponentially especially between 2005 and 2020 on the back of innovative marketing, distribution expansion and introduction of new products such as CRAX Curls and CRAX Fritts. By 2020, the company had become a leading player in the packaged savoury snacks segment in India with annual sales of approximately Rs. 500 Cr. In January 2020 the promoter family divested their stake in DFM Foods which was sold to a renowned U.S based buyout fund.
In keeping with their entrepreneurial nature, the promoter family then decided to establish a new FMCG business which has now taken shape in the form of WonderWorks Pvt. Ltd.
